in fact run them properly under Rosetta. Or do you have to pass them
as a argument to X11.app with a wrapper launcher application (ala
Sparky or Chimera).

  For Chimera, there is a Universal Binary available:

   http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/download.html

  Assuming you mean that Chimera.  I haven't tested it yet, but the notes section would imply that it is a universal binary.
