Someone mentioned a possible way of running ppc x11 binaries
on a Macintel box. The idea was to launch X11.app in Rosetta and
then run the ppc x11 binaries from xterm that way. Has anyone
tried this approach?

Subsequent messages have noted that OS X looks at the type of the
executable and loads the PowerPC or Intel libraries as necessary. One
thing to remember about performance is that, unless Apple did
something silly, you will only be running a native Intel X11 server
on your Intel Mac. The instructions in your X11 executable will run
slower than a native Intel app, but the graphics should be full
rendered at full speed.
