Just so in case I am nuts... GIMP still doesn't work with the a4
release. That is my experience. So, I am assuming there are still
more issues yet to be worked out along the pango/gtk+ line. If anyone
else is having different results please let me know.
Description of problem (in gimp, inkscape works fine):
-Open a new file, and with paintbrush tool selected move mouse pointer
around and notice the lag in movement compared to user input.
-Attempt to draw. If you just click and release (paint a dot) no
crash, and a dot of paint appears as expected. If you now click and
drag (paint along a path) the gimp immediately crashes with no
warnings or errors.
BTW, thanks to all who are discussing the ssh -X or -Y. It is very
helpful and I continue to learn a lot. I have it working on my
computer and I think I understand why the warning still appears.

Props to Guy Harris for tracking
this down in WireShark, but it will probably solve problems in
other apps (Inkscape, Gimp?)
