Is it possible to disable launchd support for launching X11? IE is it
possible to easily go back to the old model of double-click the icon. :)
Search on the archive gives me a lot of digging and/or empty searches,
though I am sure this has been asked already!
It should probably be added to a FAQ somewhere, though.
* Running /usr/X11/X11.app instead of /Apps/Utils/X11.app will give you a
simple, normal X server. You might even move the former to the latter.
Running /usr/X11/X11.app directly causes the following weird behavior:
1) I run it
2) It bounces in the dock
3) It creates another icon of itself, which has the indicator under it
4) No xterm anywhere...2 continues to bounce.
5) I go into the indicated x11, and hit command-N
6) A third icon appears, with an indicator; the xterm opens in this one
7) I quit the second one
8) I use the third one, now the only one with an indicator.
I just replicated this.
for more info on versions, I'm running Xquartz 1.2a9 and the updated X11
launcher that Jeremy Huddleston posted.
So I went back to running /A/U/X11.app, which at least creates only one
extra dock icon which is usable. :)
Me too. =)
