Hi David,
I can't support your statement.
I'm running a8 since 6 days on my mbp and the memory consumption is 7mb for
X11.app and 400kb for I guess X11 started by launchd. (two X11 processes
show up in the activity monitor) The process quartz-wm uses 1.78mb.
I'm working via X11-forwarding since 6 days nonstop on my universities
computer lab without any problems.
As I really need to have X11 running for productivity reasons I wait with
the upgrade to a10 until I'm finished with my current work.
