double launchd detected

Folks:

I'm on a PPC G5 with Leopard and XQuartz 2.3.2_rc3 installed. When I run the Activity Monitor showing active processes, there are two launchd entries, one owned by root, the other by me. These do not seem to interfere with each other, but I was wondering where the copy owned by me is coming from, and whether or not I should kill it or the other. This behavior was not noticed until I upgraded from XQuartz 2.3.1 to XQuartz 2.3.2_rc1, and it persists with the current release.

Any info would be appreciated.
