Right.  I have DISPLAY set to :1 for some other stuff I was doing.


So, please try the following two things:

Close all running X servers.
Open Terminal.app
execute 'xdpyinfo' from Terminal.app  What happens?


/Users/sitongia$ echo $DISPLAY
localhost:0
/Users/sitongia$ xdpyinfo
xdpyinfo:  unable to open display "localhost:0".
/Users/sitongia$

I've seen that and read about that before.

Close all running X servers.
Open Terminal.app
mkdir x-debug-backup
mv .Xauth* .serverauth* x-debug-backup
Run X11.app

Situation is the same.
