Hi,
I'm using Leopard and XQuartz 2.1.3 apple9. I don't know if what
I'm going to describe happened in previous releases (can't
remember).
When starting X11 with open (open -a x11) from the shell, the
command did the job (X11 is effectively started), but the shell
didn't get the control back (open doesn't stop). Note that open
behave correctly with any other app.
How long did you wait? Here it takes over 30 seconds until control
comes back to the shell, but it does come back.
Yes that is true! I've never experimented it that way, I mean when you
use it through command line 30 second is a little bit long. Now a
question: why such delay ? Strange isn't it ? Did someone can help me
to understand the "system protocol" behind open ?
