Yes that is true! I've never experimented it that way, I mean when you
use it through command line 30 second is a little bit long. Now a
question: why such delay ? Strange isn't it ? Did someone can help me

From Jeremy's answer I understand that X11.app is actually programmed
so that it should not come back, like when you simply type "xterm" at
the command prompt. The fact that it does come back seems to indicate
that the "open" command has a built-in timeout of 30 seconds.
But as far as I know, "open" is not open in the sense that it does not
belong to the published open source part of MacOSX. In this case, nobody
outside of Apple really knows how it works.
