What is the output of running these:

xdpyinfo
xrdb -query -all | grep dpi

? What is the physical dpi of your monitor (or tell me it's dimensions and resolution)?

All -

I just encountered a previously reported problem where remote emacs windows use the wrong fonts on Leopard. I'm using the most recent Xquartz binary build on 10.5.1. When I ssh to a remote machine and start emacs, my fonts are huge. See here:

referenced from here:

I can't tell whether anyone has followed up on the suggestion to create an xorg.conf file and put it in /usr/X11/lib/X11 and restart X11. Well, I tried that, and it has no effect. Neither does putting the file in /etc/X11. Only the link trick described on the discussion board works.

Cheers,
Sam Bayer

P.S. Does anyone know why Apple's mailing list search works so poorly? I couldn't find the message linked above using it. This problem seems endemic to Apple's support pages - a search on the toplevel support page doesn't return things that a search on the discussion pages does, and I'm pretty sure I couldn't find the referenced discussion using the Apple search either.
