But if so, it shouldn't be there. You can look for it as follows:
sudo lsof -i tcp:6000
(replace 6000 by 6001 for display :1, etc).
Oh, wait a minute ... I forgot about lock files: If the above does not
produce output, the problem is probably just a lock file /tmp/.X0-lock
left over from a crashed server.

I don't. The keyboard on my laptop is physically secure, and even
though I run sshd, it does not accept a guest login. Neither, I think,
can the guest user share files over the net. (Or if it can, presumably
only while logged in on the console.)
