2.3.0 problems on Macbook

Hello all,

Just installed the 2.3.0 version and thought I should report my problems with it:

1. It takes a very long time to start from cold (around a minute). Second time is faster, but still much slower than before. Even when the xterm window eventually shows, it does not have borders for about another 10 seconds (sometimes they never show up - or show only once switched to another app and back). 2.2.3 is close to instant startup.

2. Typing '£' - shift-3 gives me a # and a return instead of just £. I assume this is the non-US keyboard problem mentioned on the download page.

3. I get bizarre behaviour of the dock icon (which has changed from previous release - I assume this is intended). When launching it bounces for sometime,  sometimes stops and disappears, then starts again. Very odd.

I have a standard UK Macbook. It has a fresh (less than one month old) 10.5.4 install and the only X11 version previously installed is XQuartz 2.2.3.

I read a few mails where people had similar issues but with external keyboards or tablets attached. Mine is a plain Macbook with no external bits attached.
