Yes, and for forwarding X11 apps you do not even need an nx client. This is so useful to me I put together a README and some downloads here:

The README explains how to use nxproxy. Basically nxproxy on the remote host creates a proxy X server and converts that to nx. On the local host another nxproxy converts the nx into X11 again and the apps show up in X11.app just as usual.
