Nathan, it exists already as a hidden setting. I've posted it in 3 places on this list, two of which you just added replies to. If you're going to reply, read the messages above you, and don't get all huffy about the setting not existing until you check whether it does or not. I read all three of your posts, the complaints in them are solved by the solution I posted from
macosxhints.com.
Really I'm rather shocked that you didn't see it, or that if you feel this passionately you didn't bother to search google or some similar for the solution, if you had searched "spaces auto switch problem" it's the first hit for goodness sake, on yahoo the second. I understand people who have looked before when leopard first came out may have given up trying, this only got added in 1.5.2, but it's there, and it's not hard to find.
Now, if that doesn't do something you want, tell me, and tell apple, but I'm willing to bet quite a bit that it gives you exactly what you're after, just without the checkbox.
