Michael,
It is my understanding that the Mac version of Matlab is only
capable of displaying on the local display, unlike the Linux
version of Matlab.
So it's not a 'true' X11 app?
Most of the matlab GUI runs under Java which uses aqua windows. Only
the graphics windows run under X11. You can have a 'true' X11 version
of matlab by starting it with the -nojvm option from the command line.
Okay, when I've rebooted the (remote) Apple machine and tried with
-nojvm it does indeed do new figures on my local X11 (both Linux and
WinXP/eXceed) which is what I expected. I guess I'd "kill"ed too many
X related issues with my previous (failed) attempts!
Thanks, Michael
