See my previous message to the list ... The accumulating
/tmp/launch-... files would indicate a local problem, X11 keeps
getting relaunched or something, with new sockets, which is not
right. But if there is no longer an X server listening on the named
socket on the local machine, that would explain why you are seeing the
message you see when trying to run an X client remotely.
