Friends, Frogs, Countrymen:
Having decided to undergo Retail Therapy, I'm in the market for a three
(Count 'Em: 3!) button mouse. Can you recommend a specific model?
Of course I want one that works well with Apple's X11, but I also need
it to work well with whatever X11 Debian Linux is using these days.
I want a wired (not wireless) USB mouse. I don't have much experience
with optical mice, which is one reason I'm asking you here - but I do
know for sure that I'm real tired of scraping the toejam off my
mechanical mouse's wheels!
I don't really need a scroll wheel, but if it has one I'd want it to
double as the middle button.
Extra credit if I can buy it from a brick-and-mortar store in The
Valley. My favorites are Micro Center and Central Computers:

While price is a consideration, I believe quite strongly in investing in
high-quality equipment that will be of lasting value. So if I can't
afford the mouse you recommend, I'll save up my ducats until I can.
