All I can say is that I got the mouse as a used one at the company,
used it myself for one year and it worked. I had no trouble with
buttons not working but I have to say that when possible I tend to
use keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse so maybe I'm not the
heavy mouse user at all.
You will always find a critical review. In other non-computer
fields I used a dvd player that according to critics is pure crap
and not worth the money but for me it's was the best dvd-player I
had. It never let me down, it wasn't that easy to get RC free but
once it was it played even the most exotic DVD some friends brought
me from all over the world when they made their holidays there.

Maybe it's gotten worse. I bought my Intelliexplorer 3.0 in 2006.
I just took a look at my Logitech I currently use at my Mac Mini
and it is from 2001/2002 and works, way better than the Razor Pro
1.6 I bought from my christmas money two years ago. The first few
weeks it was ok but once the driver got out of beta and you would
download it from the original razer website and no longer from the
razerpro website thinks got worse.
If ever I have to replace this old Logitech I will take a look at
the Logitech MX 400
<http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/191&cl=de,de>,
my dad is using it's precessor and I love it on my windows box at
my parents, or the above mentioned Intelliexplorer 3.0 from MS
which I heavily use with my Macs. The only downside with Logitech
is their bad driver software. Once you have a working version, as
it is for me with the current release I downloaded last week from
their webiste, stick with it as long as it gets and ignore the
warnings you get when you install it on newer OS X versions.
Regards,
Eric
