Hi,
Several years ago I installed X11 on my mac (mac os x panther
10.3.9). It worked fine until a couples of days ago, when, suddenly

does not work any more.
Are you still running Panther, or are you having this issue on a newer
OS?
When I start X11, it does not open the X term and after some times
it quits.
Do you have any helpful output in /var/log/system.log during this time
(open Console.app)?
If I try to open an xterm from a shell the error is
==============
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
xterm Xt error: Can't open display: :0.0
==============
That's just telling you that your X server isn't running. I'm
assuming you're not on Leopard. If you are on Leopard, then you need
to remove the DISPLAY setting from your ~/.profile or ~/.bashrc
I do not remember any anomalous events that might be the cause of
this, except the following two things that happened before the X11
malfunction
1. my mac was abruptly turned off a couple of time (due to the
battery malfunction)
2. I installed an upgrade of "Office"
I don't know if these events might be related to my problems.
They shouldn't
Can anyone help me?
Hopefully...
