This is a bug at the toolkit (gtk) level... not at the Xserver level.
If you want smaller menus, edit your ~/.gtkrc (I think that's it) and
change your menu font size.

I didn't imagine the meaning could be so different. "Visibly" is
surely better, I added a comment to the ticket (I cannot change the
old text AFAICT).
