What does xev show when you try alt ctrl click?

... no, not in this case ... it is really Alt/Option-Ctrl that I
want.

I may be being dumb - but does Cmd-Ctrl-mouse-click do what you
want? Or is that different in your application?
I suspect that what would normally be the Alt key on a non=mac
machine is the Cmd key..

Well, I'm having trouble with an X11 application where the Alt-
Ctrl-
left mouse click doesn't work, and I'm looking for any hint where
(parts of) this combination might be occupied with some preferences
(please, see my original posting).
I was hoping, that there is some hidden X11 preference that I have
to change for that - switching on/off "Emulate three mouse buttons"
doesn't cure my problem.
Best regards,
Dirk.

There does not appear to be an option to disable the special
meaning
of ctrl-click in Mac OS X.
Since this is the X11 mailing list, I would have thought you
wanted to
disable it in X11, not in OS X in general. In the X11 preferences,
there is a button marked "Emulate three button mouse" under Input
that
you can disable. Or did I not understand the question?
