OK, so there is an /opt/X11 directory -- what installs that? Is that for betas, or is it something else?
Anyhow, I tried /opt/X11/bin/xterm and it acts identically (badly wrapping). I also tried it with -aw.
I do have an .Xresources file which I thought suspicious but moving it aside also does not help.
Bleh! I must be doing something wacky here.
