You need to arrange for xterm to open a window without decorations (or if
necessary override_redirect, but that's a bad idea) and I'm pretty sure it
won't do that without a patch.
The "obvious" way to do this is to make it run in the root window, but
xterm's -into is for embedding, not for making it draw into someone else's
window. This, again, requires patching xterm.
You may be able to find an alternative terminal program that will draw into
the root window.
