Denis,
I'm sorry if the wording isn't as clear as intended, I can work to
improve that after I return to the office. Simplifying to the bare
bones:
-Xcode Tools 1.1 is the complete Xcode 1.1 release, including
everything in the
Xcode Update 1.1 plus additional pieces.
- If you installed Xcode Update 1.1, you can install Xcode Tools 1.1 to
obtain the additional bits.
- If you installed Xcode Tools 1.1, you don't need to install Xcode
Update 1.1.
Xcode Update 1.1 is simply a manual download of what we were able to
provide via a software update for those who would prefer to download
and install manually. As stated in another post to this mailing list,
it's really a point of convenience: to deliver in as small a package as
possible the IDE improvements of the whole tools update package for
those who might not have a need for the entire package immediately and
who might be working on a slow connection.
The full install package will be available on CD via fulfillment
through ADC and in the next ADC Select & Premier mailing to be shipped.
Given productions schedules and lead time for the latter, this might be
four to six weeks away ... We wanted to make it available to anyone who
could get it as quickly as possible, thus the simultaneous posting to
the ADC download site.
Those who are not ADC Select and Premier members should watch for
availability through the Purchase portion of the
<http://connect.apple.com> website and keep an eye on the ADC News as
well.
I hope that clarifies the subject satisfactorily.
best,
Godfrey
