I have this sporadic bug, too (with the Xcode-only update). I tried
turning predictive compilation off, but the bug remains. It is hard to
tell if it now happens less often, because it seems a sort of random
thing. I can add to Thomas' report that when it happens, the build
progress indicator (at least for me) in the upper-right window corner
does not go away but gets stuck at 100%; the Build, Build and Run menu
items are disabled, the Fix menu item is available, but only beeps.
In fact, it's enough to close the project and re-open it for Xcode to
be able to build it again.
Sadly, closing the project or even quitting Xcode in a normal way
failshere because it complains about a running build (nothing is
happening) and the only way to quit it is a force quit.
This happens a lot here and it makes using Xcode a pretty frustrating
experience.
It does not have to do with distributed coimpiles either.
