Back then there were a lot of people reporting hanging problems, and
there was a lot of speculation as to what was causing it. I was
experiencing the problems, too. Then someone pointed out that the
problem went away when predictive compiling was turned off. I turned
that off, and I haven't had Xcode hang when building once before.
So I don't know what to tell you... Some other people on another
mailing list (cocoa-dev, I think) claim that they turned off predictive
compiling and it was still hanging on them. <shrug>
If you thought Xcode 1.1 was bad, Xcode 1.0 was worse... I also hope
the next release will be better.
