Except for the reboot, I did all that. I'd have to know which file is
updated, so I can check that it is used properly (we are running in a
networked environment). It's one of these plist files, right?
I read from a mailing list, that others are also struggling with the
same phenomenem. I.e., they can get all sorts of things to run, but not
.php and XCode and CVS!

When you edit these settings in SSH Agent, it updates a file that is
used to set the environment for GUI apps. I think you need to reboot,
or at least log out and back in, or at the very least restart Xcode,
for the changed setting to take effect.
