BTW: What is the recommended way to let Apple know that I loathe those attached editors? Filing a bug? An enhancement request? Or what?

I for one love the attached editors. They provide a massive boost to my productivity and workflow, especially using the small screen that I have to work with. The loss of attached editors in the move from ProjectBuilder to Xcode was my single biggest complaint about the new developer tools.

If you don't like them, you can just drag the splitters down to the bottom of the window, thus hiding the editors. The next time you use the same window, the editor will still be hidden.

Given that you could easily suppress the behaviour/feature that you don't like, I think it's pretty unlikely that Apple will consider this as a "bug".

Best wishes,
Greg
