the Xcode 1.5 installer overwrites /usr/bin/cvs with a rather old
version of CVS (1.10.x, "Halibut").
This is the last CVS version accepting file wrappers. Some people rely
on this for i.e. .xcode or .rtfd "files".
Since I'm also using Eclipse, which requires CVS 1.11.7 or later
(current is 1.11.17), I'm having problems with it.
If you don't use file wrappers, feel free to upgrade again.
Does Xcode's CVS integration rely on that ancient version of CVS to
work?
Wether the advantage/disadvantage ratio of file wrappers is above or
below 1 was topic of quite a few discussions. While people seem to
agree wrappers its self aren't ideal, there is no good solution for
handling bundled files (with a varying number of actual files inside
the bundle dir), either. AFAIK.
What system configuration file(s) do I need to edit so that incoming
connections via ssh see my custom-installed, ... Any pointer to which
config files are essential to ssh-invoked commands (and aliassing
them) would be highly appreciated...
man cvs
(additional hint: look for the description of the CVS_SERVER shell
variable, near the end)
