Maybe all of the Xcode developers are working on dual Cinema displays, but on my 15" PowerBook there's only enough space for one editor. Anything more just turns into a big jumbled overlapping mess.

Some people strongly prefer using multiple editor windows, and having a project window that stays out of their way while they're working. Even on a 15-inch PowerBook. (Or an old 14-inch one for that matter.)
