When I use coworker's monitors, the first thing I usually do is to turn down brightness to some level similar to a sheet of paper next to the keyboard. Sometimes as low as 10 % of the available brightness.



If you have to share code, you can't guarantee what anyone else will see unless you use spaces. I hate this "lowest common denominator" approach, but I don't have a better solution.

This is why Xcode supports emulating tabs by spaces. If you hit the Tab key, Xcode will insert a (configurable) number of spaces instead. Works great, even cross platforms :-)
