This should work. One thing to try is open the console window and type:
(gdb) print globalVariable
and see if that works. If this does work, then there is some bug in
the Expressions window. If you can file a bug with a small example
that shows this happening, that would be very helpful. If it doesn't
work, maybe you will see some error message that will help us figure
out what is going on.
