Also note that you can drag the horizontal seperator (which usually sits right at the bottom of the window) upwards to show the actually console output.

Btw, the placement of the horizontal separator should be remembered across restarts, but it's not. I've had a bug filed against this since Xcode 1.0 (or maybe early 1.1). Hopefully a fix will make it into the next release. Just a minor nit, I admit. But I hate having to drag that separator up every time I open a project.



Also, the little tiny button in the status bar of the build results window will pop open the bottom log area for you. It is to the right of the "Show Build Steps" and "Show Build Warnings" checkboxes.
