hello.
i use mail (afaik version 1.3.7) and my firewall keeps reporting that
mail keeps trying to contact 17.250.248.34, which is homepage.mac.com.
WTF is going on here? i don't have a .mac membership, and i have
configured only one email accounton a server in germany. why does mail
keep trying to contact homepage.mac.com?
It's those cute little pix up there in the corner. If the sender has a
.mac address, Mail.app will call home to get his picture. It caches
them locally, but will check to see if things have changed.
Or, I suppose, it could be sending copies of your mail to Homeland
Security...
