Did anybody report this in a Radar? There are many ways that you can
be punished by fooling with /usr/lib/crt1.o - it's tied to OS and
compiler revs, and it would be useful to have and study the sequence
that made this workaround work for y'all.

Hi Craig and Jay,
I had exactly the same problem that you did with the missing file
/usr/lib/crt1.o, except on a new 17 inch G4.
After wasting all morning on it, I found that the following one-liner
worked for me:
sudo /bin/cp /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.2.7.sdk/usr/lib/crt1.o
/usr/lib/crt1.o
Hopefully, Apple will put back this missing file in their next XCode
upgrade.
You may want to post this to email@hidden, since I
don't think I have permission
to post there.
Thanks for making me realize it wasn't just my own fault!
;-)
