Yeah, we gave up on xCode's CVS client for now as well. Check out
MacCVSX.
It does what you're asking about, and it's solid.
I will also attest to MacCVSX. There are a few wrinkles you have to get
used to. It is the os-x version of a cross-platform client, so don't
expect a shimmering cocoa interface or rigid compliance to mac
conventions. Also, it is a fairly low-level wrapper around a command
line tool, which is a _good_thing_ in my opinion, but you really need
an elementary understanding of CVS, just like Xcode makes a lot more
sense if you're familiar with gcc and gdb.
Maybe the best thing about MacCVSX is the cvsgui mailing list (a yahoo
group), that is monitored by the developers of WinCVS, MacCVSX and
gCVS, and always quick with quality help on the sticky issues.
I don't believe you need SSHPassKey if you're willing to forego
password protection on your private SSH key. In that case you can use
SSH directly. I personally don't mind an unprotected private key
because it lives in my encrypted user directory anyway.
