Xcode inherits the rectangular selection behavior from AppKit, so I'd
recommend filing a bug on AppKit.

Hi,
I'm trying to do column copy and paste in the Xcode editor. I
figured out I can highlight columns by holding down the option key
while using the mouse to select. I then copy the columns selected
and then paste. Unfortunately the paste doesn't preserve the column
alignment and simply inserts lines and puts the copied data
starting a column one. This is not what I want to happen. I want
the column data pasted where I put the cursor using the cursor
position as the first column of the paste. This works in
Codewarrior fine ( using the apple key instead of the option key ).
Is the behavior I'm seeing in Xcode the only way it works? Is there
some option I need to set to allow column copy and paste to
function how I want it to ( like Codewarrior and every other editor
I've used that supports column copy and paste )?
Thanks,
Mike
