the Mac are targetted to the Mac :-)
Carbon is more procedural-oriented while Cocoa is more object-oriented.
While both have a more or less equal weighted feature set, it's
recommended to start new apps using Cocoa. Cocoa/Java lacks a few
features of Cocoa/Obj-C.
