Things not working perfectly all the time is a fact of life. Deal.
I can build in in 10.2.x or 10.3.x with gcc3.3 nut in 10.4 it wont
build regardless of the gcc that is selected.
Knowing that the OS is new and the changes made, it would have been
nice if Apple in their infinite wisdom had left a usable gcc3.3
(even renaming to 3.3-old) that would allow these projects to
continue to build.
Apple provides cross development SDKs for 10.2.8, 10.3.9 and 10.4
that contain a snap shot of what you can link against, etc. on those
version of the operation systems (you can even copy the 10.4 one onto
a system with Xcode 1.5 I believe). They are an install option of the
developer tools. You can leverage these from the command line if you
so want (with a little work) and use GCC 3.3 as needed, etc.

Apple in their infinite wisdom
You even heard of burning bridges? Really this kind of stuff is
unneeded, leave it at home.
