What exactly is pitiful about it? Your question implies that other
platforms have better solutions, so how are they better?
The handling of NIB files is pitiful. Documentation on the issues
associated with NIB files under version control is spotty and largely
out of date. And since most Cocoa projects are useless without their
NIB files, this is a big issue.
Other than that, I can't complain much about XCode's version control
integration. Occasionally it shows files as modified when they are not,
but that doesn't cause big problems for me.
