I haven't installed Xcode 2.0 yet, but up to Xcode 1.5, you are
completely free how you group your files/frameworks. Groups are just a
cosmetical/organisational thing. You should be able to create new
groups, move your files around to your hearth's contents and still get
the exact same build result.
This is how I understand things and it worked for me this way so far.
There might be exceptions (i.e., I've seen you can make a file path
"group relative" - no idea which path a group its self has, since
groups are just cosmetical?).
(Hiding third party source completely).
Put them in their own group and they are almost hidden.
