they wanted me to PAY THEM for me to submit a bug report.
I've decided not to issue bug reports that way since then and have
adopted the attitude of simply not using software that has bugs i

AFAIK, there has *never* been a requirement to pay for this. You
just need an Apple ID, which is easy to get (just fill in the
