I am new to XCode. Have been coding in C++ with CodeWarrior ever
since Apple switched to PPC. The first thing put me in panic mode
when I first tried XCode is it doesn't colorize symbols in my
source code like CW does.
By symbols I mean the names of my classes, types, globals, and
defines. Is it possible to setup XCode to do that? If not, is
there a plan to add that in future version?
Cool down, symbol coloring is on by default for several source
types. Please take a look into the Menu Command Format -> Syntax
Coloring.
The color can be even customized in the preferences (Fonts &
Colors)- but it is not that customizable than in CW.
I am not sure we are talking about the same thing. Yes, I know XCode
does syntax coloring on language keywords, constants, etc. But I am
looking for coloring of symbols in my project and system headers. The
symbols that compiler gets from preprocessing/parsing/whatever my
source files. Not the built in keywords of a specific language.
In CodeWarrior's term, it's "Active Browser Coloring" in its Text
Colors preferences panel.
