There is something there in Xcode in the .pblangspec files, but it is really complicated and worse really flaky since it can crash Xcode in such a way that if you don't know it's these files causing a problem it can make you reinstall all of Xcode (or worse the system) to get it working again. CW was great - just a file listing the words you wanted highlighted.

Basically Xcode's support for other languages (both technically and morally) can do with a lot of improvement.

It's not just cosmetics. Since CW is so responsive,
if you have forgotten the name of a constant, a class or
a function, you can just start typing possibilities, and
when you get the name right, the text color changes. Instant feedback!
This is particularly valuable when working in old code where you are
have only vague memories about what things are called.

I also tend to navigate in source files by the shapes
and colors of the text. Tapping into those hard-coded
brain parts that are designed for finding ripe blueberries.

When I have to work in non-colored source code, I probably
lose 5% or 10% productivity.
