No. If it is deprecated then it may be removed in some upcoming
release. It merely means that starting with 10.4 you cannot count on
it being there anymore.
"Available in Mac OS X version 10.0 and later" means just that - it's
in 10.0 and later. With the exception of 10.4 and later :-)
