What exactly is meant by "Deprecated in Mac OS X version 10.4." and then "Available in Mac OS X version 10.0 and later"? Does that mean that it is deprecated but it will continue to be available in the future?
No. If it is deprecated then it may be removed in some upcoming release. It merely means that starting with 10.4 you cannot count on it being there anymore. "Available in Mac OS X version 10.0 and later" means just that - it's in 10.0 and later. With the exception of 10.4 and later :-)
Of course I hope we can rely on all the deprecated functions which don't yet have replacements not suddenly disappearing :-)
e.g. All of QuickDraw has been deprecated but there are some functions which take QD types as parameters which don't have any replacement.
