Now if I could figure out why I must delete the executable in order to link in any changes made to source files in those static libraries. Perhaps you have the answer oh venerable sage of wisdom and knowledge?

I can click in the gutter and a breakpoint appears, but Xcode will happily skip past them.

Typing "info breakpoints" into GDB tells me that the breakpoint is pending. The source code is in a static library. The static library is created by the same project I am debugging. The source is all there available to Xcode.

Could you see if "Load symbols lazily" is checked in the Debugging preferences? If so, try unchecking it and see if it makes a difference.
