Being Unix, it knows nothing about resource forks.
You might want to convert your resource files to data-fork -- should
be able to use ResMerger for this.
I think some people use CVS wrappers, but others shun them. I haven't
had to use them.
Other options are to use a Mac client (though that's not likely to
integrate as well with Xcode). I think maccvs handled this
transparently, but I haven't used it in a while.
