Why don't both of you report a bug to apple. They will then ask for more info and at least it will definitley get their attention.

Application crashes on my Mac (10.4.6, dual G5) recently stopped
being notified via the CrashReporter UI. It's just the dialog that's
gone missing; the report itself is logged correctly to ~Library/Logs/
CrashReporter/.

I checked that com.apple.CrashReporter.plist exists in ~/Library/
Preferences/ and contains:

	<key>DialogType</key>
	<string>developer</string>

and then used /Developer/Applications/Utilities/CrashReporterPrefs to
reset the prefs, without effect. No further advice seems to be given
in the CrashReporter tech note:
<http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2004/tn2123.html>

Any ideas?

Well, since no one else has replied, I will simply say that you are not
crazy :), as I have the exact same problem on one machine. Dunno why.
