Is there any way to turn of this most annoying warning? Every time I
undo past the last save point, XCode deploys one of those lumbering

WTF, indeed. You'll find this and other useful settings
inexplicably buried
in the Expert Settings Notes, available under the Help menu.
you can also find the hidden settings to assign a sound to XCode
'build success' and 'build failure'..
(yes, I've since extracted the 'metal stamp' sound from
CodeWarrior, and am quite happy now)
What did you use to extract the sound? And what format did you make
the sound file?
I succeeded at extracting it as a system 7 sound (type 'sfil',
creator 'FNDR'). The finder plays the sound quite nicely in the
preview pane. But Xcode does nothing with it.
I have placed the sound file in "/Users/adin/Library/Sounds/
CWMetalStamp"
I typed "defaults write com.apple.Xcode PBXBuildSuccessSound /Users/
adin/Library/Sounds/CWMetalStamp" in the terminal window. Opening up
Xcode's prefs in Property List Editor shows the correct path has been
set for PBXBuildSuccessSound.
I did quit and restart Xcode.
Odd note, in the past iTunes would convert / play system 7 sounds,
but it won't with this one.
